10 Best Saved By The Bell Episodes

Posted by Rachelle Gordon on 21st Dec 2016

Saved by the Bell was not just a hit 80s Saturday morning show about cool teenagers in California - for many, it’s an institution. The show was full of cheese (and terrible outfits) but it also had it’s endearing moments. It didn’t hurt that the majority of the young stars were cute, hip, and fun, becoming first crushes for millions of adolescents across the country. Here’s our list of the 10 best SBTB episodes of all time - feel free to stream at will.

10. Rockumentary

Zack Attack T-Shirt

This classic fantasy episode tells the story of the Zack Attack, an imaginary band the gang make up with Zack Morris as the frontman. This Behind the Music - type story features radio legend Casey Kasem as the narrator - and some amazingly sparkly jackets.

9. The Fabulous Belding Boys

In this somewhat special episode, Mr. Belding’s super cool and chill younger brother, Rod, shows up to subsitute at Bayside High. The gang takes an immediately liking to Rod, but Mr. Belding is not impressed. However, Zack misconstrues the situation and accuses the principal of being jealous. However, it turns out Mr. Belding was right all along and Rod is a total skeeze and everything ends up back to normal.

8. The Malibu Sands episodes

I Heart Kelly Kapowski T-SHirts

The string of season 3 episodes revolving around a summer spent working at the Malibu Sands resort are beloved by all fans, featuring a young Leah Remini in the role of the boss’s daughter/Zack’s love interest, Stacey. She stuck around for several episodes, but simply could not match the power that Kelly Kapowski held over the blonde babe.

7. Breaking Up is Hard to Undo

Oh to be young and in love. In this episode, both Zack and Kelly and Slater and Jessie split up. Meanwhile, Mr. Belding is also having marital strife and starts hanging around the guys...weird much? This episode contains the epic Slater doing ballet scene wearing the black unitard last seen when the gang reunited on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

6. Pipe Dreams

Bayside Tigers T-Shirt

No issue is too small for Saved by the Bell, including the debate over Big Oil. In Pipe Dreams, it’s discovered that there is oil under Bayside. At first the gang is excited about the school being rich, but soon learn that digging for black gold could be harmful to the environment and its creatures. Look out for some major feels.

5. Fake I.D.s

This season 3 episode has it all - laughter, high drama, guy code - you name it. After meeting a cute college coed at The Max, Zack decides to scrounge up some fake I.D.s for him and the guys so that they can track the girl down at a bar. While there, the fellas (with Screech wearing a sweet fake moustache) eye Kelly’s new boyfriend kissing another girl. They struggle with deciding to tell Kelly, but then they all get busted by Zack’s mom.

4. The Fight

Don't be a Slater Hater T-Shirt

Zack and Slater were always frenemies, and tensions finally hit the boiling point in the aptly-named episode, The Fight. Once again arguing over a girl, the long-time rivals end up throwing punches in the hallway. But don’t worry - it’s all blown over and back to normal by the next episode.

3. There’s No Hope With Dope

All TV shows about teenagers and their problems eventually feature an anti-drug episode and Saved by the Bell is no exception. Superstar heartthrob actor Johnny Dakota comes to Bayside High to shoot a PSA about the dangers of drugs. The gang befriend Johnny, even getting invited to a rad Hollywood party. But things get real when it turns out that Johnny himself smokes pot. Deciding he’s a hypocrite, the gang decide to shoot the anti-drug spot with him.

2. The Mamas and the Papas

It’s another typical home-ec class assignment - pretend marry a classmate and see how it goes. Uh, right… Of course, Zack and Kelly end up paired and Slater schemes to break them apart. Just another day at Bayside High.

1. Jessie’s Song

Even if you’re not a SBTB fan, you know about the infamous episode where perfect Jessie Spano gets addicted to caffeine pills. Despite struggling to study for her math test, Jessie agrees to spread herself too thin and join a girl group with Lisa and Kelly. It all culminates with Jessie wigging out and half-singing/half-crying I’m So Excited. Are you really surprised this is number 1?
