The Bad News Bears is one of the original sports movies and helped create the Hollywood formula of loser kid team gets it together and comes back to officially not suck. However it was created back in the glory days of Hollywood when it was OK for the team you root for to actually lose (AKA the Rocky era). Modern films inevitably have the plucky youngsters snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the last few minutes because there is no way we can show kids that it is possible to lose after putting up a good fight. The Mighty Ducks is a good example of that but there are a lot. The Bad News Bears was a fun movie and these t shirts rock (especially the Chico's Bail Bonds one).
