Some t-shirt descriptions are easier than others. Given the fact that I always laugh when I see a video of someone getting it in the yarbles, this one should be pretty good. I also like ninjas a lot.
The guy in the white gi looks suspiciously like Chuck Norris. I don't know if that was intentional, but wouldn't put it past the artist.
This shirt reminds me of how I came up with the name for our site. The nerd part should be obvious, but as a kid I used to love watching Kung Fu Theater. Every Saturday I would go to my friend Corey's house. We had the schedule worked out to where we could watch six hours of kung fu movies in a row. During commercial breaks we would practice our kung fu on his little brothers.
Actually, when I look back that is one of my best childhood memories. I don't know if that is kind of cool or kind of sad, but I am rolling with cool.
My all time favorite kung fu movie will have to be Master of the Flying Guillotine. The Blind Master is one of the greatest kung fu villains of all time: brutal, skilled beyond all belief, and in possession of the deadly flying guillotine, a weapon of unimaginable strength and power. He is in all ways bad ass and bad. Of course, the Chinese movie industry of the 70's was not known for it's subtlety, so in order to make sure you got the point that he was in all ways evil they put a swastika on his costume front.
This movie has all the great elements; training sequences, a martial arts contest, blatant Chinese racism (especially the Thai character), badly dubbed dialogue, an autarchist villain, and a proletarian hero. Since China is communist all the good guys are for the people and against the dynastic rulers. It's pretty much standard. The Master is working to kill revolutionaries. This is one movie I have in my personal collection.
There is no way I can let this shirt pass without linking some of my favorite kind of videos: guys getting punched in the balls. Here is a great one where a guy is messing around with a kid and the kid gets him in the fork. OMG! I just found the most amazing video where a midget punches a fat kid in the nuts! It has all the comedic elements to be one of the best videos ever.
It's been a while since I did one of these, so I guess I am due. Monkey Steals the Peach is also a punk rock band from somewhere in the United States (their profile is suspiciously vague on the matter). Normally I don't listen to random bands on the internet, but I will usually make an exception for anyone who claims to be punk rock. These guys aren't bad. More thrashy than I normally like, but I could listen to them.
By the way, Monkey Steals the Peach is a legitimate martial arts move and is performed more or less exactly as it is on this shirt. It's also known as an upward groin slap.
